Individuals

Many individuals made very generous donations towards the overall building and fitting out costs of the Education Centre.

These included Trustees past and present, Volunteers and Friends of RWT.

Many completed Gift Aid Forms, which increased the value of donations considerably.  The ‘Buy share of a log’ scheme raised significant sums and more then 1800 logs were purchased. There were also very generous donations from Boaters and visitors to the Canal centre at Batchworth.

Other fundraising activities included ‘Prosecco and Canape’ parties at the Canal centre, winter Ceilidhs, proceeds from the Rock Choir concert and sales of local honey.

Rickmansworth Waterways Trust would like to thank everyone who so generously donated money, time and considerable energy in so many different ways to this project.   All of this has made it possible to have a stunning building at Batchworth Lock, which is the Rickmansworth Waterways Trust Heritage Education centre.

If you want to see the full story of the construction Les Mead has complete a video of the complete build which can be viewed here.
