Roger reunited with Raymond!

3 narrowboats

The Cosgrove Canal Festival last weekend (18 & 19 July) provided a rare opportunity for our historic narrowboat Roger to be reunited with Raymond.

Raymond was the last wooden butty to be built and from its launch in 1958 was paired with Roger until Roger was decommissioned in1968. For a while Raymond was the Brays’ home, then in the 1970s it was paired with Nutfield, seen here on the left.

The boats are rarely seen together these days because Raymond is based in Branston. It was restored and is maintained by The Friends of Raymond.
