It was the unanimous view of everyone in my party that it was an excellent day out last Thursday. What a fantastic day we had on Saturday, as you predicted the sun shone for us, everyone was in jolly mood and everything went to plan. Unfortunately just one of the lads was unable to come after all but all those who did had a great time. Thank you and all involved for the hard work that goes into this sort of thing – I hope we will be able to do it again sometime.

Relax with a Friday evening cruise on the Grand Union!

Experience the evening peace and tranquility of the canal with our popular Friday evening cruises

Limited time only! From Friday 5 June until the 21 August 2026.

Sorry, this event is in the past now! But the good news is we plan to run it again. Check back closer to the date next year for more details and booking or email events@rwt.org.uk for questions.

From Batchworth Lock, Rickmansworth to Lot Mead Lock, Croxley and return (approx 1 hour).

£10 per person. Groups bookings of 9 or more people are charged a flat rate of £90.

Choice of times and dates:
- 5:30pm or 7:00pm.
- Friday 5 June until the 21 August.
Refreshments onboard. Tea, coffee, squash and biscuits.
Book individually or reserve a whole boat! Maximum of 12 passengers allowed.
BYO! Bring your own snacks and drink.
Help with the lock. Or just sit back. Take a deep breath. And relax …
